CExchange cares deeply about our environment. It is, after all, our business. But it gets much more personal than that.

CExchange Environmental Commitment

As a team filled with people who are passionate about the outdoors, we will attempt to recover for reuse every device possible and responsibly recycle all others to help preserve and protect our natural resources. We will only use either R2 or e-Stewards® certified recyclers to ensure that nothing hazardous ever enters the environment due to our actions. We have established processes to validate our practices which might impact the environment and have achieved the certifications required to demonstrate our commitment, because we believe it is the right thing to do. Most electronic devices we receive from our partner locations are refurbished to some extent for repurposing and reuse. This reduces the amount of raw materials needed to manufacture new products. Those items that are beyond their useful life are recycled responsibly through either an R2 or an e-Stewards® recycler that upholds the Electronics Recyclers' Pledge of True Stewardship, the world's most rigorous environmental and social justice criteria for recycling e-waste.

What Happens To Your Old Devices

Most electronics devices we receive from our partner locations are refurbished to some extent for repurposing and reuse. This reduces the amount of raw materials needed to manufacture new products. Those items that are beyond their useful life are recycled responsibly.

No Export Policy

We only sell valuable working devices for reuse overseas and will never ever sell eWaste outside the country. We document the movement and final disposition of all eWaste materials.

Environmental Certifications

CExchange believes in process driven policy implementation and has invested significantly in achieving multiple certifications, including ISO 14001:2015 and R2. ISO 14001:2015 sets out the criteria for an environmental management system to which a company can be certified. It maps out a framework for companies to follow when establishing an effective environmental management system. The R2 Standard is designed to help ensure the quality, transparency, and environmental and social responsibility of R2 Certified electronics recycling facilities.

REDUCE, REUSE, REFURBISH, and RECYCLE. CExchange believes in and practices the 4 R’s as a way of doing business. We have an active reuse and recycling program throughout our business both in the materials we process for our partners as well as those materials we use internally. From e-Waste to office supplies and production materials, we try to leave the smallest footprint possible.
